Andrew retired from medical practice in the year 2000 and with his wife Patricia bought Saddleback Farm in Afton soon to become Veritas Vineyards and Winery. In the intervening 19 years, Veritas has become one of the most popular wineries in Virginia producing up to 20,000 cases of wine a year from nearly 100 acres of vineyard. In a joint effort with Chris Parker Veritas exported wines to the UK but with Geo-Political changes in Europe that venture is now on hold. Having primarily come from an academic background in Medicine Andrew seized the opportunity to become a wine professional by completing the level 4-WSET Diploma in 2016 and later he became a Certified Specialist in Wine and qualified with honors as a French Wine Scholar in 2017. Apart from his academic studies Andrew is actively involved with both the viticulture and winemaking activities of wine production at Veritas Vineyards and Winery.


CHRIS PARKER, WSET Level 3 Award with Distinction, MIoD

Chris, a technology entrepreneur, wine adventurer, business advisor and mentor established New Horizon Wines to “explore the world through great wines”. After being on the leading edge of technology for 40 years he decided, “…and now for something completely different” (for you Monty Python fans) and created international exposure and demand for the finest wines of Virginia  and was one of the first to introduce English sparkling wines into the US. This was not his first venture into wine. During the early 80’s he established a company in the UK to promote and sell wines of Penedes, Spain and from a fledgling wine region New Zealand, both relatively unknown at the time. He has worked with wine buyers, writers, wines lovers, and wine appreciation groups in the US, UK and Europe, and a has a reputation as a ‘storyteller’, educating in a fun and informative style. Chris has visited many European wine regions and is one of the leading advocates of wines produced in his home region of Virginia, and an early pioneer for fine English sparkling wine. He was awarded WSET Level 3 with Distinction and is completing Level 4 WSET Diploma.



WSET Certified Educator for Wines and Spirits

Tracy has been professionally involved in all aspects of the wine and spirits trade during the last 20 years. She spent a decade in Napa Valley, where she worked as a Sommelier for a Michelin-starred restaurant; was Director of Sales, Marketing and Hospitality for a highly-regarded boutique winery; and eventually began making wine for her own label, Analog Wine Co. She has traveled extensively throughout many of the wine and spirits regions of the world as Director of a Manhattan-based import and distribution company. With a dedication to education, Tracy established Waldron Wine Selections in 2011, providing wine, spirits, and hospitality consulting to collectors, restaurants, and wineries. She is highly regarded for her ability to educate both colleagues and consumers with passion and a complete lack of pretense. Tracy is a Certified Specialist of Wine, holds the WSET Level 3 Certificate with Distinction, and the WSET Level 4 Diploma. She is a WSET Certified Educator for both Wines and Spirits.
