How can I register and pay for a class or course at the Virginia Wine Academy?
Advance payment is required for all classes and programs. You can register and pay through our course registration page using MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a class or course at the Virginia Wine Academy?
If you cancel more than 7 days prior to the class or course start date, you may request a full refund. If you cancel 7 days or less prior to the class or course start date, you may request a refund less a 20% cancellation fee. Please note that this does not apply to WSET courses. There are no refunds within 7 days of a WSET course start date. If you cancel any class or course within 48-hours of its scheduled start time, no refunds will apply.
If you wish to reschedule instead of receive a refund, you may request to be rescheduled to another session with no penalty, as long as the request is made 7 days prior to the class or course beginning. If you reschedule 7 days or less prior to the class or course start date, you may request a credit less a 20% rescheduling fee. Rescheduling is not possible within 48-hours of a class or course start time.
For all WSET exams, please note that all exam fees are forfeited when a student is registered for the exam with the WSET. There are no cancellations or rescheduling of WSET examinations once the exam order has been submitted to the WSET. Students will need to register and pay for a later exam date, if they find themselves unable to sit for an exam for which they are scheduled.
On occasion, the Virginia Wine Academy will offer a class or course for which the above “Refund, Cancellation, and Rescheduling Policy” does not apply. In those instances, the registration page for the class or course will reflect the modified policy for that specific event.
Where do I sit the exam for a WSET course?
All WSET exams are conducted in-person at either the Richmond or Veritas locations. This applies to both in-class and online courses
How do I choose which WSET course is right for me?
It depends on level of knowledge and readiness for the level of study
WSET Level 1 is for beginners with limited knowledge of wine. No pre-requisite
WSET Level 2 is an intermediate level and require basic knowledge of wine and spirits. No pre-requisite.
WSET Level 3 is an advanced level and requires intermediate knowledge of wine and spirits.
WSET Level 2 Award is a pre-requisite for advancing to this level.
